Bringing Love You More Weddings to Life: Inside the Brand Shoot

A new brand, a shared vision, and what happens when photography and illustration are designed to work as one.

There's a particular kind of energy on a shoot day when a brand is brand new. Nothing has been decided yet — no expectations, no "the way we've always done it." Just a vision and the chance to build something from the ground up. That's exactly what we got to do with Erin Hansen Events.

Erin came to us at the start of her brand's life, which is honestly our favourite place to begin. When you're shaping the visuals before a single client has seen them, every frame gets to mean something. The shoot wasn't about ticking off a content list — it was about deciding, image by image, what this brand was going to feel like.

What made this one special was the art direction, led by Kirsty, the illustrator behind so much of the brand's visual identity. Bringing an illustrator into the room changes the whole conversation. Instead of photography and graphics living in separate worlds and being stitched together later, we got to design them to belong to each other from the start — colour, texture, framing, and negative space all considered together. The photographs were composed knowing exactly where Kirsty's illustration would live, so the final brand feels intentional rather than assembled.

The result is a set of visuals with real range: hero imagery that carries the brand on its own, plus quieter supporting frames built to sit alongside illustration across socials, the website, and print. It's the kind of cohesive, considered look that's hard to fake and impossible to retrofit — which is why we always recommend doing it early.
