Where It All Started
My career has taken a few unexpected turns.
I get asked pretty often how With Baxter came to be, and the truth is that it wasn't part of some grand master plan. It was out of necessity.
I started out as a picture framer before heading down the path of Sport and Exercise Science and participating inmany many triathlons.. Along the way there was yoga teacher training a lot of coaching,, a handful of other studies, and even some time working on mine sites (a pretty familiar chapter for plenty of Western Australians).
Eventually, I retrained as a teacher and spent seven years in the profession. it was genuinely a career that I thought I would stay in, but life had other plans, and honestly I’m not mad about it.
Within the space of about six weeks, I rethought my teaching career for the sake of my mental health and my mum suddenly passed away..
That kind of grief changes you. It shakes the foundations of what you thought your future would look like and leaves you standing in a place you never expected to be. I was numb and not functioning and essentially was not capable of returning to Teahing.
When everything felt uncertain, I found myself returning to something that had always been there in the background.
Creativity.
I picked my camera back up. What started as a distraction quickly became something much bigger. Photography gave me purpose when I needed it most. It gave me a way to create, connect and slowly rebuild.
So I started learning.
I taught myself website design. I learned Adobe Illustrator. I immersed myself in branding, marketing, photography, videography and content creation. Every project taught me something new and every skill opened another door.
What began as a necessity became a passion.
And eventually, it became With Baxter and from there it became weddings, branding, commerical and everything photography and videography.
Today, I work with businesses, creatives and brands to tell stories that matter. I help people build brands with personality, create content with purpose and connect with the people they're trying to reach.
The funny thing is, none of it was planned, but ultimately everything led to this strategic yet wildly creative life.
There wasn't a perfectly mapped-out business strategy or a five-year vision board, well there is, but it changes all the time and is gorwing exponentially.

There was simply a willingness to start again and again and again and keep going.
With Baxter was built from all the chapters that came before it. The creative ones, the difficult ones, the unexpected ones and the lessons hidden inside all of them. Looking back, picking up my camera again changed my life.
It brought me back to creativity, back to myself, and ultimately led me here.
And that's where it all started and that’s where it will keep going.
